(Sidney) The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the hit and run accident in Sidney has been located.
Fabien Bell, 40, of Sidney, went to the Sheriff’s Office and said that he thought the two boys crossing the street had just slapped his car on the way by and did not know of the injuries.
Fabien Bell was cited for Failure to Yield to Pedestrian in Crosswalk, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Failure to Provide Proof of Security Against Liability Injury Accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
The accident happened at around 4:09 p.m. Monday. Witnesses told authorities that a vehicle turning left from Filmore Street to Illinois Street struck one of two juveniles crossing the road. The vehicle briefly stopped and then fled the scene. Sidney Rescue transported the juvenile to Grape Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
