(Griswold) The Iowa School Performance Profile Results were discussed at the Griswold School Board meeting Monday evening.
Superintendent Dave Henrichs said all three buildings were either in the Commendable or High Performing areas which puts them in the top quarter of schools in the state of Iowa. Henrichs said they are very proud of that, but with any school district or any organization there is always some areas that have room for improvement.
The Board Goals were also discussed and approved Monday night. Henrichs said they typically set goals earlier in the school year but the board elected to postpone that until they had board elections as they could potentially have new board members. He said they had a couple work sessions between elections and now and from that the board set three goals this school year.
In other activity, the Board accepted resignations from Cathy Vannausdle – High School Jazz Choir Director and Co-Speech Director effective at the end of the school year; Al Hunter – Transportation Director effective March 13; and Joe Rush – Route Bus Driver effective February 21st. The board approved new hire Lexi Reilly as Football Cheerleading Sponsor for next year.
The Board approved the Athletic Handbook which is a set of guidelines and state rules that pertain to all sports which will take effect next school year. Henrichs said this is basically a guide for student athletes and parents as they progress through the athletic season next year.
The School Board also approved the addition of a Science Club and Debate Club for next school year.
