(Clarinda) A Clarinda man was transported to the hospital after he crashed into an apartment complex Friday evening.
The Clarinda Police Department says officers were called to 20th and West Willow Street at approximately 8:58 p.m. Upon arrival, officers determined that 39-year-old Matthew Hollingsworth was driving a 2001 Toyota Sequoia southbound on 20th Street, left the roadway at the apex of the curve and continued south. The vehicle then went through the apartment complex grounds traveling about 60 feet before crashing through the apartment building #39. The vehicle came to rest with all four tires inside the bedroom.
Hollingsworth was sitting on the west side of apartment #39 with minor injuries. He was transported to Clarinda Regional Health where Officer’s continued their investigation.
Damage to the building was estimated at $50,000. The damage to Hollingsworth’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
