(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Veterans Memorial Wall is almost complete.
Trudi Tam said the walls are ordered and the names are done.
“We’re hoping to have it up around Memorial Day, but we’ll still continue to take names forever and we will put them on twice a year either by Veterans Day or by Memorial Day,” explained Tam.
The Guthrie County Veterans Memorial Wall will be placed on the Guthrie County Courthouse lawn. Trudi Tam said three of the four walls are completely filled with names front and back. To have a name placed on the wall, fill out an application which can be found on the Johnson Family Funeral Home website and send the application to Trudi Tam, 2692 Wagon Road, Stuart, Iowa, 50250. The price until December 31st is $60.
Veterans past or present, of any branch, can be honored. Those eligible to be placed on the Veteran’s Memorial Wall are current or past residences or any affiliation of Guthrie County, Iowa.
