(Farragut) A Deputy was injured after he was struck by a vehicle in Fremont County this (Tuesday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says 34-year-old Austin Richardson, of Hamburg, was transported to the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital by Shenandoah Rescue following the accident the occurred on J46 at approximately 7:51 a.m.
According to the report, 65-year-old Ronald Fritschle, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, was driving a 1990 Buick Lesabre eastbound on J46, approaching a previous accident scene when he lost control. The Lesabre went onto the north shoulder and then back onto the roadway toward the south shoulder. As the Lesabre was sliding toward the south shoulder, the left rear struck the Deputy standing on the roadway investigating the previous accident.
