(Elk Horn) Changes are coming to the shared Superintendent agreement between Exira-EHK and IKM-Manning.
Trevor Miller serves as the Superintendent for both districts and will continue to do so. However, he will be spending more time in the IKM-Manning District moving forward. Miller says, “When we originally started IKM-Manning had a late opening in May three years ago and so we did a one year agreement and then after that we agreed to do a two-year additional agreement so that expires this year on June 30th. With IKM-Manning being the larger district by about 312 kids they wanted to have someone in the district more often and not share it 50-50.”
As part of the change, Miller had to submit his resignation to the Exira-EHK board at their meeting on Monday. “What we are looking at doing now is adjusting the sharing agreement and with that IKM-Manning would hold my contract since they are the larger district and would have the majority of sharing. The action item for what the exact sharing agreement will look like will take place in February at both board meetings where it will be able to be laid out how many days I’ll be in which district.”
Miller says unless both boards decide to go in a different direction he’ll spend at least one day per week in the Exira-EHK District.
