(Clarinda) Two people were transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident in Page County Wednesday evening.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office says the accident occurred on 230th near Q Avenue, approximately two miles southwest of Clarinda, at around 9:15 p.m.
The investigation indicated that 19-year-old Austin Tyler Laythe, of Villisca, was operating a red 2006 Ford Ranger westbound in the 2700 block of 230th Street. Laythe lost traction in the slush/snow covered roadway. He over corrected while trying to regain control of the vehicle and went into the north ditch. The vehicle struck a fence post in the ditch and then rolled onto its side coming to rest.
Laythe and a juvenile female passenger were transported to Clarinda Regional Health Center by Clarinda Ambulance service for unknown disclosed injuries.
Damage to the Ford Ranger is estimated at $8,000.
No charges have been filed.
