(Des Moines) This week Governor Reynolds introduced the Governor Safety Bureau.
Iowa House District 20 Representative Tom Moore says this initiative will create a new bureau under the Iowa Department of Public Safety, assigned with collaborating with law enforcement agencies and school districts to better identify and react to security threats at Iowa schools.
Governor Reynolds is proposing 2 million dollars in order to create the agency. The bureau would then cost about 1.5 million dollars in the years following.
