(Atlantic) Atlantic students arrived safely to school after a bus slid into a ditch this morning.
Superintendent Steve Barber said the bus was backing out of a driveway when the incident occurred.
“The front wheel kind of got hooked on a pile of snow and went down into the ditch a little bit and got stuck. The bus was pulled out and the kids arrived to school a little late,” said Barber.
Barber said he has been in contact with the Des Moines weather service, as well as the county and city road crews who have been out hitting the paved roads all day to make sure the kids get home safely.
