(Greenfield) A Michigan man was arrested on drug, weapon, and forgery charges in Adair County.
The Adair Police Department arrested 28-year-old E. Clifton Ezell, of Wyoming, Michigan, on January 16th after police received a call from the manager of the Casey’s gas station in Adair about a counterfeit/fake fifty dollar bill. Authorities caught up to Ezell’s vehicle as it exited the interstate to stop at the eastbound rest area. During the stop, a large amount of money was examined for more counterfeit fake bills. The odor of marijuana was present along with a green leafy substance, which Clifton claimed possession. Also located in the vehicle under the driver’s seat was a large machete, which Clifton claimed possession. Clifton was identified roadside by a witness. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying Weapons, and Forgery. He was held on $4,000 cash or surety bond.
In other activity, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Alex Ryan Hollingsworth, of Cedar Falls, on January 13th on a warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault 1st Offense. Hollingsworth was released on his own recognizance.
Matthew Dwaine Seymour, 44, of Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested January 16th on a warrant for Operating under the Influence 1st Offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense. Seymour was held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
