(Griswold) The Griswold School Board approved the Family Connections Memorandum of Understanding at their meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Dave Henrichs said Family Connections provides mental health services to their students.
The Board also approved a retirement compensation package for a non-certified employee at their meeting Monday night. Henrichs said last month the Board approved the resignation of Board Secretary/Superintendent Secretary Nancy Taylor effective at the end of June. They had a discussion about if there would be any compensation package for her.
Henrichs said the Board certainly wanted to help the transition of the new person by making sure they had an employee that felt good about the situation without also setting themselves up for precedence down the road.
Henrichs said their Certified Staff get a total payout of $18,000 paid over three years ($6,000 a year), so this package would be very similar.
The Board also approved the Modified Supplement Amount and Plan for Dropout Prevention. Henrichs said this is supplemental funding they get to service their at-risk and potential drop-out students. It’s a formula driven amount and all school districts get this based upon their student enrollment. Henrichs said their amount for next school year is $158,638 and 25-percent of that must be paid with regular district program cost and the board approved the maximum amount.
The Board approved the following resignations effective at the end of the school year: Eric Baker – High School Business Teacher, Donnie Weed – Middle School/High School Special Education Teacher, Laura Carlton – Football Cheerleading Sponsor, and Chad Rogers – Middle School Football Coach. The resignation of Lexi Reilly- Middle School/High School Pareducator is effective before the end of the school year.
