(Council Bluffs) Three people were injured including a Council Bluffs Police Officer in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.
According to the press release, the accident happened at around 1:35 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near the 2-mile marker.
The Police Cruiser was parked in the right-hand lane facing east, with its emergency lights activated, when it was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by a driver from Bellevue, Nebraska.
The driver and the Officer were taken to University Nebraska Medical Center for evaluation. The passenger in the vehicle that rear-ended the Police Cruiser was taken to a Council Bluffs hospital for injuries to his face and wrist.
The accident is under investigation. Police say speed and alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
