(Audubon) Budget work is getting started in Audubon County.
The Audubon County Board of Supervisors is meeting with departments to review their budgets. Board member Todd Nelsen says, “I think most of the departments have their budgets in and now we sit down with each department and go over them. We started with Secondary Roads and next week we’ll try to meet with the bulk of them and see what all the requests come in and if it all fits. That’s the start of the budget process.”
Meanwhile a budget amendment request was reviewed for the Secondary Roads Department to buy rock. “We had some FEMA funds that we didn’t plan on at this time last year and NextEra, the wind tower people, ended up reimbursing us for some roadwork-patching and gravel. There were funds coming in that weren’t in the budget and you can’t spend it without doing an amendment to show where it’s coming in and where you are spending it.”
In other activity, a letter of resignation was accepted from Recorder’s Deputy Carolyn Bruhn.
