(Wayne County) A Creston man died in a two-vehicle crash involving an ATV and a pickup in Wayne County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 3:33 p.m., Saturday on Vale Road just west of 120th Avenue. The ATV driver, identified as 40-Travis Scott Street, of Creston, died in the accident. The driver of the pickup 51-year old Robert Glen Joens was injured.
According to the State Patrol, Joens was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup eastbound on Vale Avenue. Street was driving a 2008 Kawasaki ATV westbound on Vale. State Police say both the pickup and the ATV were over the center of the roadway when they crested the hill. Street turned the ATV to the north in an effort to avoid the pickup when the collision occurred. Street was ejected from the ATV and ended up in the north ditch. The pickup ended up in the north ditch east of the initial point of impact.
Wayne County ambulance transported both Travis Scott Street and Robert Glen Joens to the Wayne County Hospital.
