(Oakland) Riverside made a 9-0 run early in the 3rd quarter to make a game of it, but Audubon put things away with a 54-43 road win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Audubon led by a five to fifteen point window nearly the entire night, but the Bulldogs made things interesting with a couple of Eli Ryun baskets and an Aiden Bell 3-pointer. Audubon had maintained a 19-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and got up by 14 at half at 34-20. Riverside had their best offensive stretch right out of halftime and closed to with six points on a couple of different occasions, but didn’t swing the pendulum all the way in their favor.
Marcus Olsen hit 5/6 free-throws in the closing minutes to help secure the victory. The Wheelers led by eight with 2:45 left when they started to milk the clock. Olsen was one of three players in double figures scoring for Audubon. He had 11 points while Skyler Schultes and Joel Klocke each had 10. Riverside was led by freshman Aiden Bell’s 14. Gavin Smith posted 13 rebounds for Audubon.
