(Atlantic) A large crowd attended the swearing-in ceremony for Fourth Judicial Court Judge Michael Hooper of Atlantic in the courtroom at the Cass County Courthouse on Friday afternoon.
The Honorable Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial District Jeffrey L. Larson spoke on behalf of the Fourth Judicial District. “It’s celebration time, and we do appreciate all of you for being here, not only for Mike but for the Judicial Branch in general,” said Judge Larson.
Supreme Court Justice Susan Christensen, of Harlan, administered the Oath of Office.
Judge Michael Hooper thanked all the judges who trusted him with cases along the way which allowed him to build up a reputation to be in the position he is in today. He thanked his family for their support and the people of Cass County for allowing him to be the County Attorney.
Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Fourth Judicial Court Judge Michael Hooper in January.
Judge Hooper received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and his law degree from Creighton University Law School.
The Fourth Judicial District includes Audubon, Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby counties.
