Mildred Stapleton, 101, of Massena passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle.
Funeral Services: Will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Massena with burial in the Massena Center Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following services. Pastor Karen Patrick will officiate the service. The Steen Funeral Home in Massena is in charge of the professional arrangements. Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 4th, one hour prior to the services.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mildred Stapleton memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Survivors: Mildred is survived by two daughters, Shirley Elaine Eshelman of Massena and M. Jean Dohrmann (Russ) of Urbandale; one son, David Austin Stapleton (Julia) of Fayetteville, AR; five generations of grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and others. Recently a six-generation picture was taken with Mildred, her daughter Shirley and four generations of granddaughters.
