(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution for the surface transportation block grant program application at their meeting Tuesday.
Guthrie County Auditor Marci McClellan said County Engineer Josh Sebern presented the resolution which gets the supervisors’ approval to apply for the Surface Transportation Block Grant to resurface County Road F32. The estimated cost is $4-million, the block grant would be for $1-million and the remaining $3-million would come from Farm to Market funds. McClellan said it’s about 12 to 14 miles between Guthrie Center and the pavement that goes into Coon Rapids.
In other activity, the supervisors approved a request from the Stuart Revitalization Committee to close White Pole Road between Dexter and Stuart on April 18th starting at 11:00 a.m. for the 5K Bonnie and Clyde Run/Walk event.
The Supervisors appointed Amy Davis as the new General Relief Director as well as accepted the appointment for her as the Veteran Affairs Administrator. She will start February 17th.
And, after a lengthy discussion, the supervisors opted to increase the construction tipping fee at the Transfer Station to $80 per ton and the solid waste tipping fee to $65 per ton starting July 1, 2020.
