(Guthrie Center, IA) — Cam Richter of AC/GC finished a great basketball career by being named 3rd team All-State by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association this week. Richter led the Chargers to a 17-5 record with 16.9 points per game plus adding 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. She says she did not expect the honor
Richter finished with 1,016 points in her career but had just 41 points in her freshman season. She says she has come a long ways since then
AC/GC won 67 games in her four seasons with the Chargers — they just missed the state tournament last year losing in the substate finals. She says each team was focused on winning
Richter says the team is in good shape to have future success
Richter does not plan on participating in any spring or summer sports so this was her last experience with high school athletics. She plans on going to Kirkwood Community College and focus on dental hygiene. She says staying involved in the community is important to her and would like to coach high school sports one day.
