(Des Moines) A couple of events celebrating veterans will be held in central Iowa this weekend. Seven-hundred veteran-athletes from across the U-S will compete in the National Veterans Golden Age Games, starting tomorrow through next Thursday. The events will be at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines and other locations. Also in Des Moines, the annual Iowa Veterans Thunder Ride will start at Southridge Mall Sunday at 1 p.m., going to the Vietnam Memorial at the Iowa State Capitol for a ceremony.
