(Indianola, IA) — An Indianola police officer lost his fingertips setting out stop sticks to stop a high speed chase earlier this month. Indianola Police Chief Brian Sher says the April 1st chase started in Des Moines, running through several counties. Sergeant Scott Dwyer set the stop sticks, but high winds and the high speed combined to whip the rope, severing his fingers. Dwyer was back on the job four days later on light duty while he heals. The suspect was later caught and arrested.
