(Des Moines) Iowa House Representative Tom Moore, of Griswold, said week seven of the legislative session this past week started with a feel-good introduction of Lauri Phelan, the recently retired President and CEO of iJag.
iJag is an education organization serving 3,500 students per year in 80 programs across the state of Iowa. In its 20+ year history, iJag has mentored more than 20,000 students who were at the highest risk of disengaging from school or dropping out without the skills and motivation needed to succeed in higher education and the workforce.
Tom Moore also noted the week 7 was an extremely busy week as they are approaching the First Funnel Friday, March 3rd. First Funnel is the day when most bills that have been proposed in the House or Senate must be voted out of their respective committee for floor action.
