(Undated) — Temperatures are cooling, and the insect population is falling, which likely means bats may have wiggled indoors to ride out the winter. Iowa Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Biologist Stephanie Shepherd says bats are a bit mis-understood and get a bad rap.
She says if one ends up in your house, close off internal doors, and open windows and or doors to the outside, turn off the lights, and leave it alone. She says it’ll likely leave on its own within minutes.
