(Des Moines, IA) — The cat population at the Animal Rescue League has been rising dramatically this fall. The ARL has dealt with three large-scale cat hoards in the past three weeks. The total number of cats from the rescues is now at 103. The most recent case was in Webster County, where crews found 37-cats in bad condition. The ARL currently has about 1,000 animals at its shelter north of Des Moines.
