(Cascade, IA) — Authorities have identified the person killed in the apartment fire in Cascade Wednesday night. Thirty-nine-year-old Christian Wagner died as the result of injuries he suffered in the fire. The building is considered to be a total loss. Firefighters were called to the scene at about 9:00 p-m. The responding crews say they encountered heavy smoke coming from the building as they arrived. Multiple fire departments responded. The cause of the fire is still being investigated but authorities say they don’t suspect foul play.
