(Washington, DC) — U-S Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst are backing the Homefront Energy Independence Act. The bipartisan measure would ban Russian oil and be aimed at lowering gasoline prices. Ernst says the bill would make E-15 fuel available year-round, establish a tax credit for E-15 and biodiesel, and direct the Environmental Protection Agency to finalize its E-15 labeling rule. A news release from Grassley’s office says homegrown Iowa biofuels provide a quick and clean solution for lowering prices at the pump. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is the lead Democratic sponsor of the bill.
