(Atlantic) Cindy Axne, U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, was asked during a town hall meeting in Atlantic this week how she is planning to address the high cost of prescriptions and health care.
Axne said every year she has been in office they have tried to lower the cost of prescription drugs and they are stopped at every turn.
Axne said they want to cover vision, dental and hearing, but that requires them to negotiate a lot of the prescription drugs and so she said the best they can do right now is start with the most expensive, most used drugs and getting those costs reduced and then continue to move down to where they can get all of the medications at a lower price point.
Axne also mentioned that the pieces she hopes will stay in the Build Back Better plan are the pieces that are going to best benefit Iowa.
Axne said these pieces help families but when you help a family, you help a community and you help our entire country.
