(Council Bluffs) Carter Pellett scored 15-points, and Dayton Templeton knocked in 14 to lead Atlantic past St. Albert 57-43.
“This is a tough place to play, and St. Albert plays “super” hard, said Atlantic Head Coach Derek Hall. “They attacked the middle and played in your face defense. I thought we handled that very well. Tonight, we had a different starting five, and they came out and set the tone, shared the ball, and guarded well.
The second five off the bench didn’t drop off and elevated the play to another level,” said Hall. “It was a great game and fun to watch.”
The Trojans led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter, and the game remained tight in the second quarter, 23-21, advantage Atlantic at the break.
Templeton added to his four-point first half with 10 in the second half. Carter Pellett heated up in the second half and scored 15-points. At the end of three-quarters, the Trojans opened up a 39-31 lead and finished the game strong, outscoring the home team 18-12 in the frame to ice the win 57-43.
Besides Pelletts 15, and Templeton’s 14 points, Jackson McLaren ended the game with 7-points, Garrett McLaren 6, Colton Rasmussen, Jayden Proehl, and Caden Andersen five.
Carter White led St. Albert with 9 points, D.J. Weilage, 7, Alex Gast, Jaxon Lehnen, and Collin Lillie, 6, Chase Morton 4, Nate Kay 3, and Ayden Hill 2.
This week, the Trojans posted back-to-wins over Creston and St. Albert and extended its record to 3-11 and 5-11 overall. St. Albert is 3-6 in the Conference and 7-9 overall.
