The Wheeler’s resiliency and the ability to come back after digging themselves out of a 24-0 hole. drew praise from Coach Birks,
Birks says the loss is a good learning experience and notes plenty of takeaways from the game and areas to improve. Birks said the loss should keep his team motivated and hungry.
Coon Rapids-Bayard is next up for the Wheelers this Friday night. The Crusaders enter the contest with a 3-2 record.
Crusader quarterback Tanner Oswald has completed 52-percent of his passes for 906 yards, 11 touchdowns, and no interceptions, and Gabe Obert averages 6-yards per carry in the backfield.
Coach Birks is emphasizing the trench play on both sides of the ball this week. He says if they don’t contain C-R-B, the game will turn into a dogfight.
