(Hardin Co.) One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Hardin County on Friday.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred at mile marker 169 of Highway 20 westbound at 10:32 a.m. 18-year-old Alexzander Purman, of Elkader, was driving a 2011 Chevy Avalanche eastbound on Highway 20 and entered the median and then continued to the westbound lanes and struck a 2016 Ford Explorer head-on. The driver of the Ford Explorer, 61-year-old Bryan Harken of Spencer, was killed in the accident. Purman was transported to Mercy in Des Moines by Aircare.
The accident remains under investigation.
