(Sioux City, IA) — A Sioux City man who received more than two-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine in the mail is going to federal prison for more than 20 years. The U-S Attorney’s Office says 40-year-old Levi Hamilton was sentenced to 262 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute meth. Hamilton admitted he got the drugs in the mail last August and that he and a friend intended to distribute the meth in the Sioux City area. Prosecutors say Hamilton has more than 20 prior convictions.
