(Area) A High Wind Warning is in effect from Midnight tonight to 8:00 a.m. Wednesday for Monona, Harrison, Shelby and Pottawattamie counties.
Forecasters say northwest winds of 25 to 40 miles per hour are expected, with gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour. The strong winds may cause damage to trees and power lines, leading to scattered power outages. Travel could also be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
The rest of southwest Iowa is under a Wind Advisory from Midnight tonight to 8:00 a.m. Wednesday with northwest winds of 20 to 35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Northwest and North-Central Iowa is under a Winter Storm Watch for blowing and drifting snow, Northeast Iowa is under a Winter Weather Advisory.
