(Exira, IA) — Two teams playing for pride will face off in their regular season finale tonight as Griswold visits Exira EHK, coverage on KSOM.
The Spartans have a slim chance at the playoffs — they would need to beat Griswold and then get some help. QB Bryce Brabham is coming off his best passing performance of the season throwing for 244 yards and 4 TD in last week’s 50-44 loss to East Mills. Brabham was not the starter when the season started — there is not doubting his running game but Head Coach Drew Buckholdt likes how he has come along throwing the pigskin
Griswold’s QB Bode Wyman has put up impressive numbers this season — 1,343 passing yards including 18 TD and 4 INT. Buckholdt says they have to get pressure on Wyman so he doesn’t just sit in the pocket and pick his defense apart
The Tiger’s receivers Connor Bowers and Auden Wilson have a combined 49 catches for 903 yards and 15 TD. Buckholdt says his corners Owen Juhl and Blake Nelson will have to stay with them so much they’ll need to know what flavor gum they’re chewing
Griswold Head Coach Seth Lembke says there is plenty for his team to play for tonight
Lembke says that with a great game tonight, Bode Wyman could set the Griswold’s career passing yards record
This will also be a match up of two great linebackers — Senior Alex Hansen for Exira EHK has 63.5 tackles and 10 TFL and Senior Wyatt Peterson for Griswold has 60.5 tackles and 11 TFL. Lembke says both are leaders and both are agressive
2-5 Griswold visits 2-5 Exira EHK. Kickoff 7pm, coverage on KSOM starts with the Scouting Report at 5, In the Huddle at 5:15, Pre Game at 6:30. Video on Western Iowa Today TV on You Tube.
