(Area) — The Iowa Association of Track Coaches have released its Team and Individual Pre-Season Rankings for the 2024 season.
In Class 1A, ACGC Boys are ranked #3 — the Chargers finished 2nd at last year’s state meet. Lake Mills is #1 followed by Earlham and then the Chargers while Danville and Ankeny Christian round out the top 5 1A boys. Woodbine is 9th and IKM Manning is 17th.
Individual rankings from area schools include Gunner Wagner, Senior, Woodbine is #6; Gavin Sloss, Senior, ACGC is #19, Brennan Boden, Senior, Tri Center Neola is #22, and Dawson Braet, Sophomore, Earlham is #30
On the girls side in Class 1A, ACGC comes in 5th in the pre-season poll — they finished 5th at last year’s state meet. Madrid is #1 followed by South Winneshiek, Earlham is #3, Martensdale St. Mary’s and then the Chargers round out the top 5. Other notables — Treynor is #7, Woodbine #10, AHSTW is #12, and Logan-Magnolia is #17.
Individual rankings from area schools include Ava Campbell, Senior, ACGC #9, Madison Sporrer, Senior, Logan-Magnolia is #12, Allysen Johnsen, Junior, Logan Magnolia is #22 and Mackenzie Hager, Junior, Earlham is #26.
In Class 2A, Okoboji is #1 on the Boys side and Van Meter is the #1 girls team.
Class 3A teams — Gilbert is the Pre-season #1 for the boys, while Pella is #1 on the girls side. Glenwood is #7 for girls and Harlan is #14.
Individually, Lindsey Sonderman, Senior, Harlan is ranked #2; Grace Berglund, Sophomore, Glenwood is #4;
Number one teams in Class 4A are Dowling for Boys and Pleasant Valley for girls.
Individually, Kevin Coots, Junior, Lewis Central is ranked #11 while Delayna Reese, Sophomore, Lewis Central is #26.
