(Oakland, IA) — Riverside volleyball could be one to watch in 2024 — the Bulldogs only lose two seniors off of last year’s 27-11 squad.
Elyssa Amdor (206 kills, 123 digs, and 20 aces) and Carly Henderson (381 digs) were key leaders but Head Coach Brooke Flathers will turn to three seniors this year — Elly Henderson, Ayla Richardson and Sophia Taylor
Richardson (636 assists, 96 kills, 143 digs, 39 blocks, 35 aces) returns at Setter, Henderson (207 kills 145 digs, 36 blocks, 21 aces) is back up front, and Taylor (183 kills, 64 blocks, 19 aces) will give the Bulldogs a dynamic three-punch. The Bulldogs are really bullish at the net — returning Junior Monica Kelley (62 blocks, 93 kills) and Junior Bentley Rone (51 blocks, 202 kills, 144 digs and 50 aces) which means that Flathers believes a strength of the team is blocking
Overall, Flathers says the kids are dreaming big this year but she hopes they just take it one day at a time
Riverside Volleyball opens their season on Saturday, August 31 with a tournament at AHSTW.
