(Griswold, IA) — Victories have not come easy for Griswold football — just two wins in the last five seasons but Head Coach Seth Lembke says there is reason for optimism in 2024.
For one, the Tigers have a lot of numbers and Lembke says there is depth for the first time in a long time. Offensively, Griswold as returnees at QB, RB, and WR but Lembke says he may shuffle the deck and see if the team will be better with guys at different positions
Bode Wyman thew for 1,244 yards with 10 TD and 11 interceptions at QB while the leading rushers were Owen Johnson (334 yards) as a freshman, Senior Zane Johnson (322 yards) and Junior Mason Steinhoff (249 yards). Senior Connor Bowers was the leading receiver with 25 catches for 327 yards. All are back and Lembke feels like the kids are motivated to improving the win total
Griswold did not have any seniors on last year’s team so Lembke says this is the time for the young players to become experienced players and turn the record around
Griswold opens their season on Friday, August 30 hosting Boyer Valley in a non-district game.
