(Lincoln, NE) – Over the weekend, former Harlan Cyclone, Brett Sears, threw a complete game shutout while giving up just two hits. His performance helped the Huskers achieve a 3-0 win against Ohio State.
Sears improved to an undefeated 6-0 record on the season. He is the first Husker since Will Walsh in the Big Ten Tournament last season to throw a complete-game shutout. The local native’s two hits given up was the fewest in a complete game for a Nebraska pitcher since Matt Waldron against Michigan State in 2019.
This marked the seventh consecutive quality start for the senior. That marks the longest streak by a Husker since Aaron Mardsen with seven straight in 2002.
Nebraska will return back to the field on Tuesday as they take on Kansas this Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m.
