(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved a standard DOT Title VI Assurance and agreement for River Access and the Water Trail project.
Harlan City Administrator Gene Gettys says this is similar to receiving federal highway funds for the river access project in 2018, and the DOT provides a funding element.
The Council followed by appointing Gene Gettys as the Title VI Coordinator. The Council also approved a formality motion to approve budgeted transfers for the Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
The Council then reviewed the minutes of the insurance and Park and Recreation Committees. Gene Gettys explained that the rate has been gradually increasing. He says the combined premium for all combined coverages is around $300,000.
The Council also approved raising the pool punch pass to $60.00 and offering one-hour and 30-minute swimming lessons.
The Council ended the action items by reviewing and approving Murphy Heavy Contracting’s bid for the 4th Street Bridge Project for $182,350.00. Gettys says the project will be partially paid for with $150,000 in ARPA funds.
