(College Park, Maryland)- It’s the Big Ten Championship Tournament and Iowa Wrestling pushed six wrestlers through to Saturday’s semifinal round. It was a successful session for the Hawkeyes as they went a combined 14-4 on Friday.
The wrestlers moving on include Real Woods, Jared Franek, Michael Caliendo, Patrick Kennedy, Zach Glazier, and the big surprise of Brody Teske. Teske came into the tourney as a #14 seed but overcame an eight-point deficit and picked up a decision victory over Ohio State’s #3 seed Nic Bouzakis. Upsets would be the story of the quarterfinals as Caleb Rathjen and Drake Ayala would be defeated by lower-seeded opponents. The semifinals begin at 6 pm on Saturday.
