(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 5 cents, averaging $2.80 across Iowa. Prices fell 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 6 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.12, up 2 cents from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.69. The current Iowa diesel price is 33 cents lower than the national average of $4.02. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.26 in Iowa.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.06 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $75.00. Brent crude oil rose $.27 and is currently priced at $80.51. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $77.24, and Brent crude was $81.70.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.95 for U87-E10, $2.23 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.53 for ULSD#2, $2.84 for ULSD#1, and $1.84 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Propane prices rose were not reported this week due to the holiday. Home heating oil prices were not reported this week due to the holiday. Natural gas prices were unchanged at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.51/MMbtu.
