(Denison) A nationwide traffic project focused on bringing down fatalities during the three weeks called the end of summer. The enforcement effort started on August 18 ends on September 4.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper and District #4 Information Officer Shelby McCreedy says in 2022, between August 1 and September 4, there were 40 traffic fatalities.
Trooper McCreedy says with this in mind, not only is Iowa participating in the National Traffic Enforcement Project, but Iowa is also partnering with the Governors Traffic Safety Bureau and local agencies to participate in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
