(Griswold, IA) – Coach Spunangule is looking forward to this upcoming cross-country season for the Griswold Tigers. The girls’ team still may only include one athlete Josie Millikan, but with larger numbers on the boys’ side this season, they are looking to compete as a young team.
Griswold is returning their top two runners of Cody Doersher and Nolan Smith from last year as they are looking to work harder than ever for the Tigers this season.
Practices started this week for the Tigers as they have been getting to work on the hills and started getting the legs going. Finding your pace as an individual is the most important part of cross-country to coach Spunangule.
In terms of improvements this season, coach Spunangule is looking for his athletes to give it all at 100%. Whether that is on the field or in the classroom, he has high expectations for his runners.
Griswold has a good chance to compete in Fort Dodge this year. With multiple returning runners and athletes who are always giving their all, the Tigers have a lot to work with this season.
The Tigers will travel to Logan Magnolia on August 31st for their first meet of the season which starts at 5:00 pm.
