(Griswold, IA) – On The Upcoming Podcast, we talked to the Griswold Volleyball seniors which include Whitney Pennock, Carolina Arcia, and Linsey Keiser. Griswold was 18-15 last season and 4-4 in the Corner Conference behind East Mills. Griswold graduated two seniors of Emma Mundorf and Makenna Askeland last year as these three athletes are going to have big shoes to fill when it comes to a leadership role and building a team culture based on teamwork.
These seniors realize the importance of volleyball is not just winning on the court. Volleyball is about the life lessons on the way to impact your life in the future.
Griswold was successful on the floor last season. With an 18-15 record, they were able to capitalize on some big games throughout the season, even when tensions may have been high in some of the tighter games. One of those games includes a five-set loss to Fremont Mills on September 26th where they were not able to close the match, losing 15-8 in the final set. Many pressure situations are going to appear throughout the season, and these seniors are ready to get at them in full force.
As they look forward to their upcoming season, they are just going to take it one game at a time. Focusing on their opponent that night and knowing how to beat them is the most important level of experience when it comes to taking on tough opponents.
Griswold will start out their regular season on August 24th as they will be taking on Lenox at 7:00 pm at Griswold High School.
