(Montgomery Co) Montgomery County resident Jan Norris appeared before the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning and thanked them for finally making the hazardous pipeline ordinance an agenda item last week.
Norris noted that Summit Carbon Solutions was granted the injunction filed in district court.
Norris said, “it is unfortunate that counties have been put in an impossible position, unfortunate that norms are being broken, unfortunate that current safety regulations are not up to speed on this new and unprecedented project, and unfortunate that big corporations that stand to make billions has spared no expense in buying influence”.
As we reported last week, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to not move forward with an ordinance amending the zoning for hazardous liquid pipelines.
