(Des Moines) The Iowa Supreme Court will weigh in on the state’s recent abortion ban. The high court announced Tuesday it will take up Governor Reynolds’ request to allow the new law to take effect. A district court judge had temporarily halted the new law, which bans abortion basically after six weeks of pregnancy. Groups like Planned Parenthood had filed legal motions against the new law. The state Supreme Court will likely decide the issue during its next term, which runs from this September to June 30th of next year.
