(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 14 cents this past week, averaging $3.48 across Iowa. This is 32 cents lower than one year ago. The national average was $3.62, up 9 cents from last year.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 3 cents this past week with a statewide average of $3.91. The current price in Iowa is 30 cents less than the national average of $4.21. One year ago, diesel averaged $4.73 per gallon.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the Texas Intermediate by $2.21 per barrel, currently priced at $82.57. Brent Crude oil rose $2.00 and is currently priced at $86.74. One year ago, WTI sold for $100.60, and Brent Crude Oil was at $104.42.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
Natural gas prices fell 5 cents at the Henry Hub reporting station at $2.09.
