(Ames) An Ames flight school is hoping to help fill the national pilot shortage. Central Iowa Air Service has gotten the F-A-A certification to partner with colleges on pilot training. The result could mean a cheaper and faster path for pilots earning their wings. Central Iowa Air Service is currently working on a curriculum with Des Moines Area Community College, aiming to start the program next year.
