(State) The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union will host the Girls State Wrestling Tournament next Thursday and Friday in Coralville. The field for the tourney will be determined based on Friday’s Super Regionals. Competition starts at 11:00 a.m.
Region 1 and Region 2 are being held in Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center. The Iowa Events Center in Des Moines houses Regions 3 and 4. Regions 5 and 6 are at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids. Luther College in Decorah welcomes Regions 7 and 8.
AHSTW, Clarinda, Council Bluffs Coop, Denison-Schleswig, Glenwood, Lewis Central, Logan-Magnolia, SWAT, Treynor, and Underwood are among the area teams in Region 1.
Region 2 includes Audubon, Carroll, Kuemper Catholic, Missouri Valley, Red Oak, Riverside, Shenandoah, and Southwest Iowa in the 22-team field.
Creston is in Region 3 while Earlham and Panorama are in Region 4.
The top four wrestlers in each bracket move on to state on February 2nd and 3rd.
