(Iowa City) Iowa’s resurgence continued Thursday with a 93-84 win over Michigan in overtime. The Hawkeyes improve to 11-6 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Ten.
Kris Murray posted 27 points and 8 rebounds. Payton Sandfort gave a big lift off the bench with his 26 points. Filip Rebraca contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds. Abraham Lincoln alum Josh Dix played 31 minutes. He was 3/5 from the field and 2/3 beyond the arc with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Iowa trailed by seven with 2:01 left in regulation. Rebraca scored a layup followed by back-to-back three’s from Sandfort. Sandfort was fouled on his 3-pointer with :20 left and made the free-throw to tie the game at 79. Sandfort hit another bucket early in OT and the home squad never trailed in the extra session.
The Hawks will host Maryland on Sunday.
