(Iowa) — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says it’s finding cases of birds that survive bird flu and says the effects of the disease tend to vary by species. The department says bird flu affects the intestinal tracks of waterfowl, whereas it attacks the brain of other species. Bird flu was recently discovered in a commercial turkey flock in Buena Vista county.
